This policy covers the Livingstone iOS app only. For our browser extension, website, and subscription system, see the full privacy policy.
Stored on your device only. The iOS app saves your recent search queries in a private database on your iPhone or iPad. This data is never sent to Livingstone servers or any third party. You control it completely—clearing the app cache or uninstalling the app permanently deletes this history.
If you subscribe to Livingstone Pro via Apple In-App Purchase, the app checks your subscription status with Apple's servers only, not Livingstone's. Apple manages your Apple ID, payment method, and subscription state. Livingstone never receives or stores this information.
When you search, the app displays Google results in an embedded web view. Your device communicates directly with Google exactly as it would in Safari. Google receives your search query and device information per their privacy policy. Livingstone is a view layer only—we do not log, inspect, or store your searches after they leave your device.
The app uses Apple's built-in translation framework to translate search results. This processing happens entirely on your device—no translation requests are sent to Livingstone or any external service. Apple's own privacy documentation covers this framework; Livingstone has no access to translation data.
If you opt into crash reporting during TestFlight beta testing or after the app is released on the App Store, iOS sends anonymized crash logs to Apple. Livingstone does not receive, store, or have access to these logs. This is Apple's infrastructure; see Apple's privacy policy for details.
The app does not request, store, or transmit:
Search history stored locally on your device persists until you delete it. Livingstone stores nothing about your app usage on its servers. If you uninstall the app, all local data is deleted unless your device backs it up through iCloud (a separate Apple service governed by Apple's privacy policy).
When you download or update the app through the App Store, Apple collects app-related analytics (crash rates, usage metrics, etc.). Livingstone does not have access to this data. See Apple's App Store Privacy details for information about Apple's data collection.
Because Livingstone does not collect personal data through the iOS app, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete from our servers. All your data (search history) is stored locally on your device and under your full control.
